At Home

As a parent, getting your teenage children on board with the importance of financial fitness starts and ends with you. The real key is opening a dialogue with them.

Our Financial Psychologist can help. Dr. Brad has answers to many of the questions parents have regarding teens and money, as well as great tips on how you can continue to set good examples.

At School

More than 2,000 schools in the U.S. and Canada are participating in H&R Block Dollars & Sense by using curriculum that teaches personal finance skills to teens in a fun, interactive environment. In addition to utilizing the curriculum in the classroom, students have the opportunity to compete in the H&R Block Dollars & Sense National Challenge for college scholarships and the chance to shadow an H&R Block senior executive.

This year we want to get even more schools involved to help teenagers build a solid financial foundation. If your high school is not currently featured on our Local Impact map, now is the time to get involved. We’re giving away more than $1 million in curriculum grants annually to high schools in the United States and Canada. Curriculum grants for the 2010-2011 school year have been awarded. To apply for a curriculum grant for the 2011 - 2012 school year, please come back in August 2010 for application information.

If you are interested in purchasing the curriculum for your class or school, you can do so through Knowledge Matters.
